Catania
Catania is an Italian city that has more than 300,000 inhabitants.
The city was founded in 729 BC. from the Calcidesi of nearby Naxos. Over time Catania has been largely transformed by the consequences of the earthquakes that raged on this part of Sicily. Its surrounding territory has been covered several times by lava flows that have reached the sea.

The church of San Biagio, also known as the church of Sant'Agata alla Fornace, is a Catholic church in Catania.
An imposing religious and cultural symbol, it is located in the San Biagio della Calcarella district or Roman Amphitheater of Catania, and stands at the western end of Piazza Stesicoro.
The church was built after the disastrous earthquake that occurred in 1693.
The church was built at the request of Archbishop Andrea Riggio in the place where, according to tradition, the furnace in which Sant'Agata suffered martyrdom was located.
